Quantum acceleration and navigation devices

Quantum inertial measurement units (IMU) are expected to arise between 5 and 10 years from now and to offer a thousand-fold improvement on existing IMUs. These devices allow a person to navigate by measuring their acceleration and rotation, without needing to connect to a GPS satellite. These devices could unlock indoor navigation devices, for navigating inside complex buildings or warehouses, or underwater autonomous vessels.
